LUJE + Alan Ferber

This is the video of my last concert with LUJE of my college career. Maybe I'll return one day as a guest artist. Who knows? Anyway, Alan Ferber killed it and his tunes were amazing.

PART XXX: PLITVICE LAKES (11/4-6)

At the center of Plitvice Lakes National Park is a series of small lakes separated by waterfalls of a wide range of sizes and heights. This is the largest of the waterfalls, right across the gorge from the main entrance.

As the oldest national park in Eastern Europe, the park has been highly developed (but is still incredibly beautiful). The main benefit of this is a series of incredible boardwalks that crosses the lakes and waterfalls alike and makes seeing the entire chain of lakes very easy in a single day. Some of the boardwalks are right at the surface of the water and some even had water flowing through them.

A closer look at the big waterfall.

A neat boardwalk right next to a cave the extended above that dark hole you can see in front of Kari.

We climbed back to the rim of the gorge and got this great view of the boardwalks from above.

Heading back down to the trail.

A ferry across the largest of the lakes went between a pair of cafes.

We decided to walk around the lake instead of taking the ferry.

A neat image of leaves floating on the surface of the water above a sunken tree.

A gorgeous copse.

Looks like a jungle.

A pair of darshes.

Kari enjoyed herself at Plitvice!

PART XXIX: MOSTAR (11/2-3)

We got to climb up the minaret of a mosque very near our hostel.

The cemetery across the street had some interesting features like this neat little pavilion.

This was the first time either of us had been in a mosque and it was gorgeous!

The fountain in which people going to prayer wash their hands before entering the mosque.

Stari Most, Mostar's most notable landmark, was destroyed in the Croat-Bosniak War in 1993 and was rebuilt and opened in 2004.

Mostar is a really cool city because there are thriving Christian and Islamic communities existing side-by-side.

On Stari Most.

A neat teahouse next to Stari Most.

Turkish tea!

There were a lot of souvenir shops in Mostar as tourism is a major source of income in the city. Here is a beautiful little peacock that reminded us of Lokrum island. PEACOCK COUNT: 17

Kari found two kittens at our guesthouse! CAT COUNT: 2

Main street of the old town of Dubrovnik. We saw a bunch of kids roller blading around here because the paving stones were incredibly smooth.

We visited a cool apothecary and monastic medicine museum.

Oh the streets of the old town were so neat.

Dubrovnik is populated by hundreds of stray cats but they were all very kind. CAT COUNT: 4

The hill behind and above me has a fortress that Napoleon built because Dubrovnik was the southernmost outpost of his empire.

This is just above the coolest bar in the world the is built into the cliffs just outside the city walls.

Here's the view from that bar.

Here's the door one must pass through to get to that bar.

I took this picture of the garden around our guesthouse the morning of our second day. What a crazy place we stayed at. It had orange trees, pomegranates, kiwis, flowers, and cats galore. CAT COUNT: 8

This view was halfway through our daily walk from the guesthouse to the old town.

We found a wild Harrison! Harry was playing in a jazz group on a cruise ship

Cat is not pleased.

Droopy cats.

 Too cute for school.

Our ferry to Lokrum island, just a few miles from the harbor.

Lokrum island from the docks of Dubrovnik.

On board the boat.

Our ferry heads home. Lokrum island is covered in peacocks that were introduced by a lord of the past. PEACOCK COUNT: 1
